Travel Grant Awards


The 5th International Symposium on the Ocean in a High CO2 World, in Lima, Peru, 7-10 September 2020 will offer limited travel support through sponsors to help early career researchers present their work.  Conditions and eligibility and the amounts of support may vary depending on the sponsor and needs of the applicant.

Applicant needs might cover one or more of travel costs to Lima, Peru, accommodation and subsistence, and/or registration fees (specific conditions may exist depending on the sponsor).


The deadline for requesting travel support is 24 April 2020. Applicants for travel support will be contacted by the sponsors to determine individual needs. Selected applicants will be notified by 7 May 2020.




- In order to apply for travel support, applicants are required to submit an abstract for an oral or poster presentation before the abstract submission deadline of 25 March 2020. When submitting an abstract, select “Funding requested: YES” to indicate interest in being considered for travel support. Only participants with abstracts which have been accepted for an oral or poster presentation by the International Scientific Committee will be eligible to receive travel support.


- Depending on the sponsor, other eligibility criteria may exist.


- Early-career scientists are encouraged to apply.
